At Romero's, we take great pride in our unique designs and we are always grateful to serve our wonderful community in Albuquerque and beyond. Although Kay's designs often reflect the style of the southwest, its the connection between Kay and the customer that truly helps to create beautiful and meaningful jewelry.
Our artist Kay Frances was born in Roswell, New Mexico. She moved to Albuquerque and attended Sandia High School and the University of New Mexico. Kay lives her life for her family and the community. She has strong firm beliefs that everyone has a right to kindness and happiness and practices this mantra everyday, always ready with a smile and a hug.
Being a single working mother builds strength through perseverance and determination. As a single woman in a business dominated by men, it is extremely challenging to be taken seriously. But Kay is persistent and treats every job with respect and importance. "I want to be a part of your celebration by offering you a piece of myself in every item. I can feel your desire to express yourself in a piece of wearable art."
Kay is proud to bring diversity to her field and constantly grateful to be able to do what she loves everyday. It is not uncommon while working with Kay that you hear the expression of this gratitude as she carves at her workbench. Her designs often incorporate turquoise with a modern, custom twist to each piece.
